Chrysler 300 and Jeep® Grand Cherokee Win AutoPacific ‘2012 Best in Class Vehicle Satisfaction’ Awards
Chrysler Group LLC announced today that the automotive research group AutoPacific has named Chrysler 300 as “Best in Class Vehicle Satisfaction” for the “Large Car” category, and Jeep® Grand Cherokee, for the second year in a row, won the “Premium Mid-Size SUV” category.
“We are honored to have the Chrysler 300 and Jeep Grand Cherokee receive awards for ‘Best in Class Vehicle Satisfaction’ by AutoPacific,” said Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales and President and CEO – Dodge Brand. “Recognition from our buyers underscores our efforts towards improving quality and customer satisfaction at Chrysler.”
“The Chrysler 300 is the reincarnation of the image-heavy original. Now with more finesse but no less personality, the 300 owners are the most satisfied of any buying a large car today,” said George Peterson, President, AutoPacific. “The Grand Cherokee wins the best in class Vehicle Satisfaction Award for the second year in a row. Grand Cherokee owners gain their satisfaction through the overall capability and quality of the vehicle’s design.”
The AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are based solely on owners’ satisfaction ratings of their new vehicle. Respondents to this survey are owners of new 2012 model year cars and trucks purchased from September through December 2011. The winners of these awards perform well in 48 separate categories that measure the ownership experience. This study by the Southern California-based automotive research firm summarizes the results of more than 75,000 new car and light truck owners in the first quarter of 2012 to determine the winners.

History-Making Day for 2013 Dodge Dart
Pride.
And for good reason.
Today, the first 2013 Dodge Dart rolled off the assembly line, officially beginning a new era for the brand’s compact car segment, offering customers roominess, style, functionality and fuel-efficiency.
It’s also time for a little pomp and celebration on this watershed day for the plant, its workers and for Dodge.
"This is huge for everybody here at Belvidere,” said plant manager Kurt Kavajecz. “Seeing that Dart roll off the line was quite a thrill for me and the men and women who built it."
"The launch of the 2013 Dodge Dart is one of the most anticipated in our history and represents a tremendous source of pride for the Brand and the Company," said President & CEO Dodge Brand Reid Bigland. "The all-new Dart offers consumers features and benefits never before found in a compact car."
The all-new Dart will begin to arrive at Dodge dealers across the country in late June and already has been bestowed with several awards. The Dart was named to "Ward’s 10 Best Interiors" List for 2012, as well as being awarded "Most Significant Vehicle" at the North American International Auto Show by editors at Autoweek. And, just last week, the Texas Auto Writers Association named the Dart the "Best Value," "Best New Feature" and "Compact Car of Texas."
It’s ironic that although the pride for the all-new Dodge Dart felt throughout the Belvidere plant is genuine (and not manufactured), it was the manufacturing of the Dart that provides the source of that pride.
There’s an anonymous quote that puts the whole issue into perspective: "Pride is a personal commitment. It is an attitude which separates excellence from mediocrity."
Or, as that great sage (and former baseball pitcher/broadcaster) Dizzy Dean was known to say, "It ain't bragging if you can do it."

Chrysler Group LLC Reports April 2012 U.S. Sales Increased 20 Percent; Best April Sales in Four Years
The Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram Truck, and FIAT brands each posted sales increases in April compared with the same month a year ago. The FIAT brand’s sizable 336 percent year-over-year sales gain was the largest percentage increase of any Chrysler Group brand in April. Chrysler Group recorded its 25th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains and its 11th-straight month of sales increases of at least 20 percent.
Chrysler Group beat the industry average sales increase for the 14th-consecutive month. In doing so, several Chrysler Group models shattered sales records. The Fiat 500, Chrysler 200 mid-size sedan, Dodge Challenger muscle car and Jeep Wrangler SUV each set new sales records for the month of April. The sporty Dodge Avenger mid-size sedan, which posted a 47 percent sales gain, set an all-time sales record.
“April was another strong month for Chrysler as our sales increased 20 percent, we recorded our 25th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth and we reported our strongest quarterly profit in 13 years,” said Reid Bigland, President and CEO – Dodge Brand and Head of U.S. Sales. “This business is all about product and the quality and fuel efficiency of our current vehicle line-up has never been better which is evident in our results.”
A broad range of Chrysler Group models contributed to the company’s 20 percent increase in April. The Fiat 500 and the Chrysler 300 full-size sedan each turned in triple-digit percentage increases, while the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger mid-size sedans each posted year-over-year increases in the double digits. The Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee weighed in with the largest sales gains of the Jeep brand, while the Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans each recorded double-digit increases. The Ram pickup truck continues to exhibit its sales strength with a 19 percent increase in April.
Chrysler Group finished the month with a 59-days supply of inventory (344,453 units). U.S. industry sales figures for April are projected at an estimated 14.6 million units Seasonally Adjusted Annual Rate (SAAR).
