This month Donavee Chrysler Jeep, in tandem with Sunny Hills High School, took part in the 19th annual Orange County Automobile Dealership Associations trouble shooting contest.  Each year Donavee Chrysler Jeep Orange County trains and mentors students from the local high school that are interested in a career in automotive repair.  Not only do the students put in a lot of extra time outside of school they work very hard just to get the chance to do so.First the students qualified by scoring the highest on a written automotive test that is taken by hundreds of students.  Then the students come to Donavee Chrysler Jeep after school and on the weekends to learn from the pros in the service department on how to properly trouble shoot issues with automobiles.  After a few months working side by side with master technicians they compete for the chance to compete locally winning a spot to compete nationally in New York and also recieve a 20,000 in scholarships and tools. Then each team is given a vehicle to work on that has a number of issues set up by the judges at the event.  First team to correctly trouble shoot all the issues with the vehicle wins the contest.  An added bonus this year was that Kia donated a brand new vehicle to the winning school! The Donavee/Sunny Hills team consisted of ROP students David Felteberger and Christopher Villar lead by instructor Charles Zepeda and Donavee's shop foreman Moe Jubran. This year the students placed 4th just barely getting squeaked by students from North Orange County's team sponsored by Toyota of Huntington Beach.  We would like to say congratulations and send a big thank you to the guys on our team!  Even though they did not win they represented their school and Donavee well.  We wish them the best of luck in their future career as an automotive technician and who knows, maybe they will be a Donavee Chrysler Jeep employee in the future!
