Some enhancements coming to the 2012 Jeep Wrangler. Check it out and let us know what you think!

2012 Jeep Wrangler to Get Pentastar V6 and Five-Speed Auto

Ever since 2007, Jeep has been offering the Wrangler with the 3.8-liter V6 that replaced the venerable 4.0-liter inline six. However, the new unit has been less liked in recent years, and it looks like a swap is in order for both it and the automatic gearbox it comes mated to.

We don’t really need to report what the replacement will be, but it comes as a good reassurance that The Toledo Blade, citing ordering guides sourced from Chrysler dealerships, is assuring us of the upcoming change. The report claims that the 2012 Wrangler's powertrain will be identical to the units in the 2011 Grand Cherokee. That means we should expect 290 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque from the award-winning Pentastar 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6.
